SAN RAFAEL, CALIF. — Autodesk, Inc., and Parallels, a virtualization and automation software developer, signed an agreement to make Parallels Desktop for Mac Autodesk's preferred Mac virtualization software. Autodesk will now support use of AutoCAD software, AutoCAD LT software, Autodesk Inventor Professional software, Autodesk 3ds Max software, Autodesk 3ds Max Design software, and the Autodesk Revit software platform for building information modeling (BIM) on Mac OS X via Parallels Desktop....

NEW YORK — McGraw-Hill Construction’s latest SmartMarket Report, “The Business Value of BIM: Getting Building Information Modeling (BIM) to the Bottom Line,” produced with Autodesk and 26 other industry organizations, profiles adoption of BIM in North America and examines the real business values that users are experiencing. According to the new report, nearly half of respondents (49 percent) report that they are using BIM tools — a 75 percent increase over the 28 percent BIM adoption rate measured in 2007....
