PORTLAND, MAINE — SPAR Point Group has announced the dates and venues for SPAR Europe and SPAR International — two specialized conferences on 3D imaging for design, construction, manufacturing and security planning.
SPAR EUROPE will be held in conjunction with Plant-Tech 2010, the European Plant Engineering and Design Conference, December 7-8, 2010 at the Amsterdam RAI Convention Centre, the Netherlands.
“Engineering, construction, manufacturing and security planning organizations capture, process and serve up 3D every day. How efficiently they do it drives productivity and mitigates risk — competence with 3D is a must, said Tom Greaves, managing director of SPAR Point Group. “The pace of innovation in 3D technologies is relentless — 3D laser scanning, mobile data capture, high dynamic range and high resolution photography, image processing and integration with CAD and GIS are all disrupting business as usual. SPAR EUROPE will help European engineering, construction, operations and security planning professionals understand which 3D tools and workflows really deliver business value and how.”
The conference incorporates Plant-Tech’s specialty of technologies for plant design, plant engineering and plant information management along with SPAR’s workshops and technical seminars on the business and technology of capturing, managing and integrating 3D information.
The conference will bring together plant owner operators, EPC contractors, information management solution providers; as well as managers and engineers in the European oil and gas industry, manufacturing companies, civil and transportation infrastructure engineering firms, industrial metrologists, geotechnical and mining firms, and land surveyors.
SPAR International, the company’s 8th annual conference on 3D imaging, design, construction, manufacturing and security, will be held March 21-24, 2011 at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center in The Woodlands (Houston), Texas.
The conference features presentations, workshops and technical seminars on the business and technology of capturing, managing and integrating 3D information. SPAR presenters are some of the most experienced professionals from the world's largest petroleum and petrochemical producers, manufacturing companies, civil and transportation infrastructure engineering firms, industrial metrologists, geotechnical and mining firms, land surveyors, and federal, state and local governments.
SPAR International welcomes presentation abstracts from process and power, civil infrastructure and transportation, and discrete manufacturing facility owners and contractors on their use of 3D imaging technologies. Presentations on the application of 3D imaging and processing tools including laser scanning, mobile data capture, and dimensional control technologies to capture and document existing-conditions data for design, construction, asset operations/maintenance, law enforcement, security planning and digital preservation of historic assets are invited. Presentations will include metrics identifying the impact of 3D imaging technology on reducing project schedules, achieving cost savings, enabling safety and productivity gains, or other measures.
Proposals must be original and not previously presented at other conferences. Proposals can be forwarded to linda.mclaughlin@sparllc.com. Questions should be directed to SPAR Point Group managing director Tom Greaves at tgreaves@divcom.com or (207) 842-5671.
