SAN RAFAEL, CALIF — SHP Leading Design, an Ohio-based multidisciplinary architectural design and engineering firm was selected by Autodesk, Inc., to receive an Autodesk BIM Experience award. The Autodesk BIM Experience Award recognizes professionals and educators around the world who are helping to drive industry transformation through building information modeling (BIM). SHP received this award for its industry-wide advocacy of BIM as a process, and its extensive use of BIM for integrated design and construction, sustainable design, and facilities management.
The award also highlights the firm’s more than 150 BIM process-based projects to date, as well as its work with educational clients such as the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Indiana University. One of the projects highlighted is the $6.3 million Welcome Pavilion project for the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky. The other is the development of the Building Information Modeling Guidelines and Standards for Architects, Engineers and Contractors for Indiana University. The new BIM Standards will initially be applied to future Indiana University projects of $5 million or more. The school plans to produce all projects per the guidelines by mid-year 2011.
